To All Members - a message from your Club Captain, David Freeth

The final bowling event of the season is our popular Ladies/Gents challenge.

My plan is to organise it, as in previous years, with one-to-one games of 15up in sessions arranged over 2 weeks starting on Wednesday 11th  September. The pairings will be such that you play someone who we consider is at the same level of bowling ability thereby ensuring you should have a good game.

Those of you who have not experienced this before the trophy goes to the Ladies or the Gents based on the total number of points won, so even if you don't win your game, you are contributing to the result - so as we say 'every point counts'.

I am keen to encourage our new members to participate in this event. It is another way to get to know other members and enjoy our bowling.

When I know the numbers, I will advise the dates and times of the sessions, and you can respond with which ones you can play, and I will then decide the pairings and let you know when you will play your game.

I hope at least everyone who plays in the teams, everyone who has played in the ladder and ALL new members sign up to play - it would be a great way to finish the season.

End of Season Party

The End-of-Season party last year was held after the final session and proved popular.
The final session is on Wednesday 25th Sept at 4pm, so the 'party', that is for ALL members, will start at 5pm.
There will be wine, soft drinks, nibbles and cakes provided in the scoring pavilion and clubhouse. We will also repeat the  'bowling around the clock' competition for all on the green and expect to finish around 7pm.
There will be a donation of £5 a head required to cover the cost of refreshments.
